Protecting Rights. Advancing Access.

Laws shape reproductive freedom. At WCCC, legislative advocacy is a critical part of our work to protect abortion access, advance reproductive equity, and remove barriers to care.

Our Work

Our Advocacy Work

Monitoring Legislation

We track proposed laws and policies that impact reproductive health care, abortion access, contraception, and bodily autonomy.

Educating and Mobilizing Advocates

We help community members stay informed and take action through calls, emails, petitions, testimony, and public engagement.

Supporting Proactive Policies

We advocate for laws that expand access to reproductive health care, protect patients and providers, and advance reproductive justice.

Responding to Threats

When reproductive rights are challenged, we organize, speak out, and mobilize in defense of access and autonomy.

PolicY

Why Legislative Advocacy
Matters

Even where abortion is legal, barriers can still exist through policy. Restrictions related to funding, insurance coverage, provider access, travel, and misinformation can all impact whether care is truly accessible.

Legislative advocacy helps address those barriers and protects progress that communities have fought hard to achieve. Policy matters because people's lives are shaped by it.

Participate

Advocacy Starts With Participation

Change happens when people show up. Legislative advocacy can take many forms: contacting elected officials, participating in campaigns, attending hearings, supporting legislation, speaking out, and voting for reproductive freedom.
